From early on, SHIROKI has made environmental issues the most important items on its management agenda and the entire corporation actively pursues them. Acquiring ISO14001 certification is one example of such activities.
In 1998, Nagoya Plant (in Nishihirose-cho, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture) acquired International Standard for Environmental Management System (ISO14001) certification. Nagoya Plant is the symbol of SHIROKI's sincere efforts at tackling environmental issues. Highly evaluated as a plant where man and the environment coexist in harmony, it received the "Toyota City Urban Design Award - Excellent Award" in 1991, the "Nikkei Most Updated Business Office Award" in 1992, and the "Special Achievement Award for Environmental Preservation" from Aichi Prefectural Government in 1993.
In 1998, Fujisawa Plant (in Kirihara-cho, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture) also acquired ISO14001 certification. (Authorized by KPMG Century Registrar Co. Ltd.) Following Nagoya Plant, Fujisawa became SHIROKI's second production facility to be certified with ISO14001.
